I might be super late to the thread but I have a 2006 Subaru legacy 2.5 non turbo I’ve changed the thermostat the radiator the fans work to switch works all the relays work the one thing that really got me was bleeding the radiator. Once I did that and once I figured out that that was problem everything worked fine

There is enough air-flow at..say..45 mph+ to make fans redundant. Next is thermostat. remove radiator cap cold, start and allow to warm up and see if coolant begins to flow
Is the bottom of the Subaru radiator boiling?
Reservoir is bubbling but no milkyness in radiator nor bottom hose is not hot but top hose is boiling to touch. Any ideas ? 2 people found this helpful.
