How much does it cost to tune a B4?
$175 is for 1hr worth of Dyno time- which for me was at GWest on Marion Road. The other $1600 is the “licence” to use Ecutek, the “tune” fee and Sean’s labour fee. Its big money whichever way you look at it. So you would be expecting big and SAFE power gains across the board. The more I drive it, the more I am happy with the results.
Can a B4 be retuned in South Australia?
I am fine with that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you live in South Australia and own a B4 though, you are rather limited as to how your car can be retuned.
What are the problems with a 1999 Subaru Legacy?
Transmission started slipping at 175000. Primary turbo failed at 145000. Knock sensor failed at 100000. Airflow meter failed at 100000. This problem is pretty standard for airflow meter equipped vehicles. Pretty damn good considering I drive this thing within an inch of its life, everywhere I go.
How to check your twin turbo legacy car?
1. Remove intercooler and check the pipes and connections are in good order and that the ICV works Check your BOV is not leaking/ block it up temporarily. While TMIC is off, inspect the intake pipe for cracks/ leaks and ensure all breather pipework is in the right spot, in good order and the PCV is operating correctly.
What kind of Turbo does a Legacy GT use?
The most common turbos used for maximum performance are the VF26P and VF27S. The AUDM B4 VF33P and VF32S also are great turbos but has above require the intake tract to suit. Do note the earlier VF14S is not interchangeable due to having it’s own wastegate and cannot be changed out of early Legacy GT’s due to this.
