Is there a problem with the 2017 Subaru Forester?
My wife and I love our 2017 Subaru Forester. Our love for it has been spoiled by 3+ years of the same problem it has had from the beginning. Subaru has admitted that there is a problem and has even extended the warranty to 10/100,000. However, this is not the recall Subaru owners deserve. There still has been no solution to the continuing problem.
Why does my 2017 Subaru Forester jerk while driving?
While driving, the transmission jerks. This is abnormal. I bought my 2017 Forester in October 2016. Within the first week of driving I noticed a hesitancy when going from “reverse” to “drive” but was told by the dealership that it was common to the engine and I just had to get used to it.
Are there any problems with the new Subaru?
There is a clear problem with some of the older Subaru models on the road. In terms of newer models, Subaru has still had a few problems as we’ve seen with some of the recalls that it has issued. Models as late as 2019 had to be brought in for repairs due to issues with their engines.
Are there any recalls on Subaru Foresters crosstreks?
It effective 2013 to 2018 Foresters as well as Crosstreks made in the same year range. They were recalled due to faulty rear suspension and also engine valves that had the potential to fail. The valves had a durability issue that could lead to engine stalling.

Why is my Subaru Forester transmission so slow?
The dealer replaced it under the Subaru warranty, which the company extended to 100,000 mi for this issue. Strong vibration and shutter @ low rpm and low speed. Caused by ice build up inside wheel rims. Went away. Shifting was from park to reverse to forwards was slow. Computer needed to get reprogrammed.
Why does my Subaru Forester make a clunking noise?
Slight clunking noise when car is put into reverse then driven forward. Reprogrammed transmission to correct rough shifting during extreme cold. During routine maintenance, the rear differential was not properly filled. Failed several thousand miles later and was replaced under warranty. turbocharged 224hp 2.5L H4 4-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Is the CVT transmission on a Subaru Forester bad?
The CVT transmission on the Forester is horrible. I had severe roughness and took to dealership about 6 months ago. They did a software update on the transmission, which made it slightly better, but is substantially rougher still than any other car I’ve driven..
