Why does my car clunk on full lock?

The knocking noise you are hearing on full lock is CV joints. Replace both sides at the same time, usually under £200 fitted. Ultimately you have to get these things checked. It could be a bad cv joint, it could be strut tops, it could be tie rod ends.

Why does my steering wheel clunk when I turn?

Get the front of the car in the air and rock the wheels at 9 and 3 o’clock to see if there is any movement in the joint. Assuming it’s a front wheel drive car, it could be a CV joint. If it is worn you will notice it more while turning tightly, on full lock for instance.

Why does my car make a knocking noise when I go over a bump?

A knocking sound when going over bumps can indicate a problem with the suspension struts. This could show the rubber bushes that join parts of the suspension have failed. Alternatively the clanking noise might get faster the quicker the car is going. This might be a wheel bearing, brake rotor or even a drive shaft.
