What does 4 mean on a Champion Spark Plug?
The ‘4’ at the end is the spark gap that’s preset at the Champion factory. That 4 means .040 gap, or forty thousandths of an inch of gap between the spark plus center copper electrode and the ground. I would stick with the RC14YC4’s, but in your older model, they benefit from being gapped a little closer than the .040 that they come set at.
