What kind of oil to use when replacing a Honda compressor?
First, I believe you are right that PAG 46 is the correct oil for the original compressor (I know this to be the case for 2001 which calls for Denso ND-OIL 8). Just to make sure, you are replacing it with the same model compressor aren’t you?
How much Pag do you put in a Honda compressor?
My understanding is that the (original) replacement compressor would come with 7oz of PAG 46 – at least for a 1999-2002 (check your Helms manual for 2003).
What should I do if my AC compressor is faulty?
Check for power and ground at the compressor. If compressor is found to be faulty, remove all of the refrigerant. Remove the compressor, receiver drier, orifice tube, and/or expansion valve. Flush all foreign materials from the AC System. Install new compressor, receiver drier, and orifice tube. Evacuate and recharge the AC system.

Why does my air conditioner compressor keep leaking oil?
The compressor may start leaking refrigerant and/or the AC oil. If the seals no longer hold, you will need a new compressor, as the seals cannot be replaced. A compressor may also fail if there is sludge or debris in the air conditioning system.
Why does my Honda Odyssey not have an air conditioner?
Honda Odyssey air conditioner problems means that the clutch can seize, which keeps the air conditioner compressor activated. In addition, the clutch can break, meaning the air conditioner does not receive enough power coming directly from the engine.
What should I do if my AC compressor fails?
When the compressor fails, the most common symptom is warm air from the vents. A squealing or grinding noise may also be heard from the compressor in the event of mechanical failure. Can I drive with an AC compressor problem?
Is it safe to drive with a bad air conditioner compressor?
In most cases, a vehicle with a bad air conditioning compressor is safe to drive. However, if grinding is heard from the compressor pulley, bearing failure may occur, causing the serpentine belt to come off. If this occurs, the battery warning light will illuminate, and the engine will stall due to lack of electrical power.
