What do you need to install a front brake?
The tools needed to complete this front brake job include a 7/8″ socket, a 19mm socket, a ratcheting wrench, a floor jack with two jack stands, a lug nut wrench, a “C” or “F” clamp, a tube of brake parts lubricant grease, and a new set of brake pads.
How big are the bolts for front brakes?
Used a 12 point 16mm socket for the front bracket bolts, and a T… 50 (i think) torx for the front caliper pins. Going to need to get some new hardware next time. Gonna see if there are “normal” aftermarket replacements.
What kind of wrench do I need for front brakes?
The E20 sockets seem to be available from a few sources, online and local, but is there a reliable source for a hex wrench (10.5 -mm?) that correctly fits those front caliper bolts? Just finished the front brakes (pads & rotors) on my wife’s 2018 WK2.
When do I change the bolts on my front brakes?
The bolts must have changed in the later years, MY14 seems to be when a lot changes took place, that might be the cut-off year. Its at least 2016-2018. My 2011 without a doubt is a typical 6 sided bolt head, holding the caliper bracket/adapter to the steering knuckle.
