When to change power steering filter and fluid?
Change the filter when changing the fluid. (This is also a great time to replace any leaking power steering hoses.) There are three different fluids used in BMWs and MINIs; the correct fluid is typically noted on a label on the reservoir cap. We can assist in determining the proper filter and fluid for your BMW or MINI.
Do you have to change the steering fluid on a tractor?
When you change your hydraulic fluid, you’re also changing the steering fluid! Changing hydraulic fluid, or hydraulic oil (same thing) is fairly straightforward and very similar to changing engine oil. Most tractor manufacturers recommend:

Additionally, most systems have a fluid filter incorporated into the fluid reservoir. (A lot of mechanics do not even know that this filter exists!) Change the filter when changing the fluid. (This is also a great time to replace any leaking power steering hoses.)
Is the steering fluid the same as the hydraulic fluid?
In modern tractors, your steering fluid is part of the hydraulic system, and the fluids are drawn from the same reservoir. How do you change power steering fluid in a Mercedes?
Replace the spring, retainer and nut over the filter and tighten down. The spring should still have some room to expand and contract but should be snug. Fill the reservoir to the bottom of the metal rim around the top of the pump housing. This car is getting power steering fluid, instead of automatic transmission fluid.
What to do when power steering fluid is dirty?
If your fluid is very dirty, simply repeat the process of sucking out fluid, putting the filter back in, filling the reservoir, and then running the engine and turning the wheel until it looks clean. Almost done! Finish by re-installing the cap and taking it for a test drive.
