Where are the timing marks on my engine?
On my engine, on the metal (left) cam pulley, there’s two marks, very near each other. One is where the mark on the timing belt should line up and the other is where the pulley should line up to the block. It was a bit confusing at first.

The white marks on the belt will not line up again once the motor has been turned….do not worry about that. Do the initial timing, pull the pin on the tensioner, rotate counterclockwise 90*, then back to initial point. Count 2 complete turns of the crank and confirm cam timing marks line back up.

Crank keyway goes to 6 oclock. That puts the arrow at 3 and the timing mark at 12, where it matches up with the timing mark on the block. Cams get lined up with the timing marks at 12 on both sides. Visit Storm’s homepage! Ohh crappy, I hate having to pick up on someone else’s project.
