How does battery drain work on a Saab?
Hi all I am new to Saabs & my 2003 9-3 aero has a battery drain now I have done a drain test & the drain stops when I pull fuse No. 14 on the passenger fuse box which according to my manual is Audio, infotainment & control pannel.

I have a parasitic battery drain in my 2004 SAAB 9-3 also. Battery drains over 3-4 days (intermittent fault…sometimes it doesnt) and the battery does recharge and check good at the auto parts store…so I suspect something else. I cannot find it but came across something quite interesting.

Is the fuse box powered 24 / 7 on a Saab?
The entire fuse box is powered 24/7, though the accessories that draw from the fuse circuits don’t appear to be “active”. Does SAAB do something odd with their electrical engineering? e.g. does the fuseblock stay hot (12Volts all the time even after time-out and days of sitting) and the controls all run through an interrupted ground somewhere else?
How can I tell if my Saab battery is dead?
I know something is wrong because if I leave the fuse in overnight i have a dead battery in the morning & the car will not start but if I pull the fuse out the car is fine Im guessing ur garage only has a computer to read engine fault codes not a tech2 that can read faults on the rest of the car? Do you have a handfree phone fitted?
Is the rear window heater normal in a Saab?
Not sure about the rest of the operation of the AC but havingt the fans come on at full and the rear window heater is normal when you select screen only (it’s actually a defrost function).
