Is the Renault Trafic a good car to buy?
The Trafic has a really good reputation and a strong reliability record. However, there has been a report of the sliding side door of the Trafic van (that had been ply-lined by the Renault dealer) coming off its channel and ending up in the road. There has also been a report of a turbo failing on the Trafic.
What happens if you have a Renault Trafic recall?
If the problem is corrected in time, it may not affect the overall reliability of your Renault Trafic. However, the fault can often remain unresolved because the previous owner didn´t know about the recall or ignored the manufacturer’s letter. The good news is that automakers usually provide unlimited time to correct such defects for free.
How often should I Have my Renault Trafic serviced?
Bought an 11 plate traffic sport crew van brand new with all the bells and whistles, cruise control, electrics, passenger airbag the lot. The van has been serviced religiously every 25000 miles firstly by the Reanult dealer whilst under warranty and then by my local man who has 20years experience working with diesel vans of all types.
What’s the problem with my Renault Trafic IAT?
Fitted another MAF plug, starts and runs fine when cold, however i’m now back to no response from throttle when starting warm. Chased the wires from MAF sensor all the way back to ECU and checked for damage, no issues. Peeled back insulation every 6 inches or so on each wire to see nice clean wires.

When did Renault change the gearbox on the Trafic?
I also heard that in 2005, Renault upgraded the gearbox with stronger bearings. Could someone tell me if this is true and does it solve the reliability problems? If this is the case, I’ll wait a while and change up to that year instead
