Where is the immobiliser sensor on a Renault Clio?
You can find the sensor on the passenger side about 6 inches down from the top of the block. It’s a fiddly job but once you know what it looks like, you’ll find it! For the record, this was on a R reg 1998 clio, old model.
What should I do if my Renault Clio wouldn’t start?
My Renault Clio wouldn’t start and have just looked at this site. Would like to thank John who posted March 11 as his suggestion has just started my car! Hold central lock button down and push down accelerator at same time for 10-15 secs. Release central locking button, then release accelerator. Then press down accelerator again and start car.
Can a Renault imobilliser be removed by a layman?
The Renault Imobilliser CAN be removed but not by Renault or by a layman. Normally the UCH will need to be sent away but what I can’t understand is why the factory fit unit is playing up as it uses a transponder in the keyfob itself to tell the system to deactivate.
Is there a problem with the Renault Clio immobiliser?

Why does my Renault Clio make a hissing noise?
Renault wanted an extortionate amount to fix that so have just made do without central locking. Over the last couple of months after driving my car without a problem, I’ll go out to my car later that day or the next to hear a kind of hissing noise from under the bonnet, almost like gas is escaping?!
