How do you reset the brake pads on a Land Rover?
You literally pull the tip out of the brake caliper (sits in a gap on the top of the pads that accessible through the opening in the caliper) and follow the cable till you see the disconnect (front one is a little hidden in wheel liner).
What should I do if my brake light is still on?
If you did this and the light is still on, then you should check brake fluid levels and make sure the line is properly bled. If that looks good, check the fuses in the glove box (look at manual for fuse map).
What does reset the brake pad light do?
It’s been a while now so my memory fades, but I don’t recall doing anything to clear the light, but I replaced the sensors at the same time the pads (and rotors on occasion) where replaced. Replacing the sensor does reset the light.
How do I reset the tire pressure warning light?
RIGHT arrow again to select TIRE PRESSURE CHECK (This will reveal a pic of your vehicle and the current air pressure amount of each tire, plus what the amounts should be). How to fix brake sensor on Land Rover?
If you still have the old sensors, cut the disc end off, skin back the two conductors and tie together. You can then properly connect the top plug end back into the factory plugs on the Land Rover. You might first check for continuity of your test harness to make sure that you do have continuity.
What makes the brake light go out in a Land Rover?
Two sensors, one at front and one at rear and one light. While it is unlikely both the front and rear sensors are giving trouble at the same time, if by some chance both are defective, then bypassing one of them with the “test” cable would not make the brake light go out as it would still be sensing the other defective sensor.
What should I do if my brake sensor is not working?
Per above, all lights should be off if both circuits are closed. This means you can use any short piece of electrical wire to jump across the two contacts of each sensor connector plug that is up in the wheel arch. The light should then be out. If not, there is a problem in the vehicle wiring and not with the sensors.
