Why does my Boxster alarm keep going off?

Checked the rear drain holes, the passenger seat carpet was a bit wet by the firewall, that foam soaks up the water pretty good (even though the drain holes were clear – weird), I then checked to see if water got to the ECU …. It hadn’t, dry as a bone.

There are three torx screws underneath. Connect a good long wire to the earth body work as shown. Now get a clamp, as shown, connect to the moving shaft. This will cure the problem which is caused by a bad earth between the steering wheel and the actual body.

PET says the part number for the brake booster on a 987-2 equipped with PCCBs is : 996 355 923 00 (yes, 996) The part number label on my PCCB equipped boxster spyder is : 997 355 025 11 Can anyone tell me if they are truly different parts, or just re-numbered parts? Apparently its common for the drainage holes to get blocked which causes the issue. The car will not start at all and the alarm is going off every 15 mins!! I guess the fact the car hasn’t moved in 4 weeks and been sat out in the elements has not helped the situation!!

Where is the tilt sensor on a Boxster 986?

You just have to take off the plastic panel to the right of the battery (as you look at it from the front) to access them. The siren is the black and red device, and the tilt sensor is the translucent plastic box. Thanks Richard, I’ve just managed to get back to this problem.

Is the battery on my Boxster still under warranty?

I recently purchased a 1 year old Boxster with 12,000 miles. It is fortunately still under warranty. Roughly every 3 weeks the battery completely drains. After it is jump started, the dealership can not find anything wrong. They have replaced the battery, and the same thing happens.
