A common MOT failure is the handbrake, main reason is that no-one uses the bloody thing [ especially on automatic cars ] so when the MOT comes round, presto hey, the bloody thing won’t go on because it’s seized up, or when it IS applied, it won’t come off, resulting in a failure. What to do if parking brake only works on one side?

After you’ve done that, if the parking brake is still wrong on that side, adjust the cable at the front end. The cables disappear under a cover at the back of the tunnel, and just in front of that cover there’s an oval opening with a rubber plug.
