Per the other post today, unless the fluid is dripping on your driveway, chances are it was low because your brake pads are so thin that the fluid is consumed by your caliper cylinders because the pistons are so far out. If you haven’t checked the pads recently this is a a big fat clue to go do so :nerd

Why does my slip and VDC light come on?
When the SLIP and VDC lights came on in my 2010 Altima for no apparent reason, the Forum posts suggested that sometimes low brake fluid might be the cause. Sure enough, mine was below the minimum point in the fluid reservoir. Adding brake fluid solved the problem. This might not be your problem but it’s easy enough to check.
