Rather than replacing an expensive glove box latch, here is a ~$20 solution to fix a glovebox that will not stay closed, or will not latch. You will not have to remove the glove box for this repair. While the repair was designed for a Volkswagen glove box that will not stay closed, it may work on many other cars too.
What kind of light is in glove box?
The glove box light is the same little (dim) LED as the light that illuminates your QI charging pad/storage area. I’ve now replaced that ultra dim center light with an LED and added mood lighting (tied into the mood light wiring in the center console) under the seats. I tried taking pictures but they’re underwhelming when taken with a phone camera.
