How reliable are SR20DET?
Registered. Very very very reliable motor they can go 700,000 miles easily with oil changes and maintenance.. You can get 500hp out of an sr20 all stock just an upgraded turbo but the rods are the week point.. i recommend 400-430 bhp if your going stock and just stock only a turbo upgrade will get you there.
Do you need a head for a SR20DE?
Cams, throttle bodies, soild built head for 9k rev limit.. you need RPM to make that kinda power out of one. manifold and turbo from a DET?
What kind of engine does the Nissan SR20DE have?
The SR20DE has an aluminum cylinder block and head, DOHC design (four valves per cylinder with two camshafts driven by timing chain) and multi-point fuel injection system.
What should inlet cam be on SR20DE N / a?
As for tuning an N/A im not clued up to much but I can tell you the inlet cam is 248 and ex is 240, there are no oil squirters in the block apparently, the compression ratio is much higher 9.5-10:1 depending on engine year, the VVT (if it has it) will work all the way up the rev’s to 8,000rpm DET’s cut out at 5,700rpm iirc.
What kind of ECU does a S14 SR20DE have?
Really depends on the ECU. If it’s an S14 SR20DE then it will have a 65Fxx half-sized ECU. I am currently working on an S14a SR20DE that has had a DET lump dropped into it by a previous owner, but still had the stock SR20DE ECU, loom, dizzy, etc.
How long does a Nissan SR20DE engine last?
The Nissan SR20DE is reliable and durable. This engine sometimes has problems with an idle air control valve and MAF sensor. The engine has a timing chain, their service life is about 150,000 miles of mileage (200,000-250,000 km).
How much horsepower does a Honda SR20DE have?
It produces from 115 to 165 PS (85 to 121 kW; 114 to 162 HP) of horsepower and from 169 to 192 Nm (17.2 to 19.6 kg·m, 124.6 to 141.6 lb·ft) of torque. There was a more powerful version of SR20DE from Autech Japan. The compression ratio, the valve timing, the throttle, and ECU have been modified.
What’s the compression ratio on a Nissan SR20DE?
The intake valves lift were 10.0 mm (0.39 in) and exhaust valves lift were 9.2 mm (0.36 in). In addition, the engine had a shorter on 3 mm (0.11 in) valves, new valve spring, light aluminium pistons, new lighter crankshaft and short-length intake manifold. Compression ratio was increased to 10:1. The Nissan SR20DE is reliable and durable.
What are the intake and exhaust valves on a Nissan SR20DE?
The SR20DE was equipped with roller rockers, new camshafts with 232° and 240° of duration on intake and exhaust valves, respectively. The intake valves lift were 10.0 mm (0.39 in) and exhaust valves lift were 9.2 mm (0.36 in).
