This aligns the thrust bearing in the center cap so that when you push in the clutch, the thrust surface is touching 360 degrees.

The only problem with loose is a lack of oil pressure in the upper rpm. That’s where the aftermarket oil pumps come in. They keep going long after the stock pump starts to lose steam.
