Why is my Nissan Frontier not getting power?
No clicking when trying to turn the motor over, just a brief whining noise near the starter. Light-tested power to starter. It’s getting power (not sure how much because I didn’t volt-test), but I replaced it too. My next step is to try and replace the starter relay.

Where is the starter relay on a 2004 Nissan Frontier?
If you’re referring to the fuse box under the hood located next to the battery the starter relay is absolutely not located there, at least not on a 2004. You saying that weeks ago it started in neutral after not starting in park makes me think neutral safety switch as well. By all means check the relay first though.
Why does my Nissan Frontier not start up?
Checked the battery first. Sure enough it was dead – couldn’t even be jumped. So, replaced the battery and cleaned the cable terminal connectors. The first time I tried to start it up I got nothing. How many relays does a Nissan Frontier have?
None of the orig. black relays have 4 prongs only 5, but some of the blue ones have 4, including the ignition relay. Pulled all the relays and none looked discolored or showed signs of being blown, so I just put everything back the way it was. Except now I have a new symptom: the dashboard panel does not work in positions 1 or 2.

It’s a $12 part whereas the ignition switch/lock is $170. Dave, can you clarify? If you’re referring to the fuse box under the hood located next to the battery the starter relay is absolutely not located there, at least not on a 2004.
