The coolant temp sensor is what is responsible for, well sending info back to the ecu about the temp of the coolant. Too hot, it turns the fans on, etc…. It is possible that it may need to be replaced, but I would look at the t-stat for the correct one being installed. It was all that was done, so always start there…

Forum for Infiniti M35 and M45, and Nissan Fuga owners. I noticed the other day when I pulled my 06′ M35X out of the garage the cooling fans were running which I thought odd but blew it off.
Why does my car fan always stay on?
My engine light check came on and I took it to the shop and it was the thermostat that needed to be replace and after the thermostat was replace my fan always stays on when the car is started and it never goes off the guy that help me installed my thermostat don’t know what is causing this problem. I looked it up and its a fail safe when the Radiator Fan Control Module is ready to be replaced. The module is no longer telling when the fan to turn off/on anymore so it just bypasses the module and the fans stay on. So here’s the thing…the fan doesn’t run when Ignition is ON, or when you start the car. It comes on later (after everything has warmed up) but then stays on. This is fine if your t-stat is working as it will simply shutdown the flow if too much cooling is present.
