When did I buy a Nissan Hardbody 2.4?
I bought one of the new NP300 Hardbody 2.4 4×4 dc bakkies in 2010, and only drove it 3 months. Traded it in when it only had 8500km on the clock.

Get a Hardbody for good purchase price, simplicity, good build quality and no frills. Hi, I managed to pick up a more rare second hand Nissan Hardbody DC 4×4 with a 3.3l petrol engine. The engine is awsome, seriously powerful in the thick sand tracks in Bots etc and there is no real difference in the fuel consumption comparing it to the 2.4l.
Is the Hilux 4.0 V6 the same as the Nissan Hardbody?
A 4.0 V6 hilux gives the same consumption, but with a much higher level of joy. I personally will not buy a petrol bakkie again if I can prevent it, but that’s just me. I would suggest that you first do a proper test drive and decide if the bakkie will meet your expectations (something which I did not do) and then decide.
Is the Nissan Hardbody 2.4 petrol still original?
I must say I am not a nissan fan, but my in-laws have a 2002-2003 model petrol 2.4. it has just clocked the 300k mark still original and going well. Gearbox is something you might want to look at. If the idling is irregular, have a proper assessment done before buying. Those are the only problems that they have found.

What’s the low range of Hardbody 2.4 petrol?
If you lock the hubs you lose 1km/l. In town it can go as low as 6km/l but on the open road it gets up to 9km/l. That makes it awesome for the longer holiday trips. The low range is really great too and I run out of ability long before it does. I honestly have no complaints thus far.
