Why does the driver seat not move front to back?
Because if you think about it, with someone in the seat (average height and weight), the seat motor and ultimately the gear (plastic) have to move the seat plus the person. Now if you were to stand outside the car and move the seat, then the motor and gears aren’t getting that much stress put on them.
