Can a K thermocouple be used on a J calibration?

If you suspect that you have a defective thermocouple, the best way to evaluate a used thermocouple is to place a new, or known good thermocouple adjacent to the suspect one in order to compare and document readings between both.

Can a stainless steel probe be cleaned with water?
While the cable is water-resistant, it is not entirely waterproof (the term “waterproof” means that an item is completely impervious to water). When you’re cleaning your probe, you can carefully wipe down the stainless steel cable as long as you don’t submerge it in liquid. You might find it easiest to clean the cable with our probe wipes.
