Why does my oil pump make a noise when I drive?
The improper oiling will increase the resistance and the rate of moving parts rub against each other, leading to raking up engine temperature at the time of driving. These instruments are not supposed to make any noise at all. The lifters need adequate oiling to function quietly.
What are the symptoms of an oil pump failure?
Some of the common symptoms are: noise from the valve train, strange noises from the hydraulic lifters, reduced oil pressure, a hotter engine, and a noisy oil pump. Usually, the oil pump doesn’t get servicing until it actually starts to fail.
What kind of noise does a valve train make?
A clicking lifter is one, very common, valve train noise. Also, if the engine is equipped with solid (mechanical) lifters fixing this usually requires, an adjustment. Most likely because, the amount of lash or free play is far too excessive.
How to diagnose oil burner noise, smoke, odor?
See OIL BURNER FUEL UNIT for details on diagnosing and fixing noisy troublesome oil burner fuel unit pumps.

Can a high volume oil pump cause low idle oil pressure?
High-volume pumps typically deliver 20 to 25 percent more oil volume than common replacement oil pumps. They’re not always a necessity, but will raise the oil-pressure reading. Low-idle oil pressure is a common concern with the FE, although it rarely causes any problem with the engine.
