What causes Nissan Altima battery to occasionally drain overnight?
What causes the OEM battery on a 2011 Nissan Altima to occasionally drain overnight so that the vehicle has to be jumped? There are two possible reasons for this. One is that the battery is defective. A cell going dead on a Nissan battery is fairly common and this can result in the intermittent starting problems.
What should I do if my Nissan battery is not working?
A voltmeter should be hooked up to check for excessive battery drain when the vehicle is off. If found, the fuses should be removed one at a time. When removing a fuse causes the voltage to drop, that is the circuit that is causing the problem. If nothing is found, the battery is probably defective and needs to be replaced.

How does parasitic test on Nissan club battery work?
The parasitic test should measure Amperes not Voltage and typically you would connect the ammeter (current measuring meter, most DVM’s will do 10A via special socket on the meter) in series between the negative battery terminal and negative battery cable (so remove cable from battery and insert ammeter in between them).

Why does my Nissan club battery keep draining?
This happens when you get silting in one or more of the cells that make up the battery and it means you may need a new one. Sometimes, but not always you may see voltage anomalies at the battery.
What should the voltage be on a Nissan club battery?
Running voltage should be 14.4V ish (healthy alternator). Immediately after shutoff about 13.2V….dropping steadily down to about 12.5-12.8V at rest. Overnight the voltage should still be at 12.5V, if the morning voltage is 12.2V? or lower, I’d suspect the battery, given what info you’ve provided already.
Is it normal for a car battery to drain after 30min?
Ok, so that is definitely a ‘normal’ draw. 180mA is a little steep for 30min IMHO but shouldn’t flatten any healthy car battery. So I think you can rule out parasitic drain by the car electrics.
