Why does my car vibrate at 40 mph?

Why does my car vibrate at 40 mph?

Thanks to the wealth of info, I was able to get my car back in operation with minimal cost despite being met with skepticism by the any mechanics I spoke to. Here’s the story: I had been stressing over a phantom vibration that occurred at 40 mph and above.

What should I do if I have vibration at 50 mph?

4.) rotate the front drive shaft 180 degrees to reach the other 4 bolts and remove them. 5.) Done your drive shaft is out – put the transmission back into 2wd, and take a spin to see if your vibration is gone. So… ok to drive over 50 mph before any repairs?

What causes vibration when oil is hot at 45 mph?

If you had a flat carrier bearing ball it would make metal that would show if you put a pencil magnet in the filler hole of the differential when the oil is hot. It would not be speed specific but at all speeds. I’ve got to agree with JGR in borrowing a set of tires with wheels from someone and see what happens.

What kind of vibration does a Dodge Ram have?

I have a Dodge Ram 1500 WS with a 3.9-liter V6. It has an annoying vibration between 45 and 55 MPH. Symptoms are a lot like bad U-joints, but the U-joints are fine and the truck only has 4000 miles on it. I’ve had the drive shaft rebalanced and that helped a little, but the vibration is still there.

When does a Nissan truck vibrate the most?

Also the Truck will vibrate while drive if i put the gear in Neutral, however it feels worst under acceleration especially between 60 km/h (40MPH) and 100 km/h (60MPH). Any pointers will be appreciated. Last edited by cpta2020 on Wed Sep 14, 2011 7:02 am, edited 3 times in total.

The Vibration changes Frequency at around 120 km/h (80MPH) and becomes less noticeable. Also the Truck will vibrate while drive if i put the gear in Neutral, however it feels worst under acceleration especially between 60 km/h (40MPH) and 100 km/h (60MPH). What makes a whirring noise when driving above 40 mph?

It was in the seat, I could feel it in the stick, the steering wheel. The whole vehicle was shaking pretty violently; I could only drive local roads below 40 mph. I’ve used this site countless times as reference, so hopefully this is helpful to others. Seems to be worse when slowing down. Sort of makes a ‘whirring’ noise.

Is there a problem with my Nissan Pathfinder?

Anyone have this problem with their 06 Pathfinder: With all windows up…roll down the rear windows and the pressure inside the Pathfinder becomes very loud and almost sonic to the ears very bothersome. Does Nissan offer any cure for this? Anyone notice the sound that the Pathfinder (this case is a 2006) when the limited slip kicks in?
