Why is the shift lock not working on my Nissan Versa?
The clicking noise when the brake pedal is pressed down has disappeared and does not allow the shifter to shift into gear. I removed the shift lock tab and push it down manually every day. It’s just becoming more of an annoyance and would like to fix it.
Why is my Nissan shifter stuck in Park?
It WAS just a blown fuse, but now, after whoever the asshole was, that told you to “hit” it out of park, you have a major repair bill. Welcome to the forum. New Member to these boards, glad to be here as I love my nissan!
Why does my Nissan Titan not shift from drive to Park?
If it does, then you know it’s the brake sensor (unlikely since you said the brake lights work), or the solenoid/relay in the shifter assembly that’s gone bad. If it’s the latter, the dealer will likely want to replace the entire shifter assembly. But if you’re handy, you can replace the solenoid or relay by yourself.
What to do if your shift lever is stuck in Park?
There is no safety garbage like that on my 1986 pontiac firebird with the automatic transmission. You just have to be smart enough not to be moving the shift lever out of park without your foot on the brake, no big deal.

What to do when your shifter wont move?
1) Set the emergency brake. 2) Locate the shift lock override slot located on the shifter console near the shifter lever. Normally, the slot is plugged with a small plastic cap. Remove the cap. 3) Insert a small screwdriver, nail file, key or similarly shaped object into the override slot, push down and hold.
What’s the fuse on the Nissan club shifter?
Also, yah the tow truck driver was an idiot lol. Fuse panel by your knee, there is a fuse that is called iirc Battery Saver. Want to check to see if it is infact blown. I had the same issue….
What causes a Nissan shifter to get stuck in Park?
The brake will be fully depressed, and the engine on but the button on the shifter doesnt engage and the shifter wont move. after a couple of minutes, the shifter will let me move into gear. I read in the owners manual that the shifter can get stuck in park if the battery charge is low, but i dont have a battery light coming on..
How to fix a Nissan Rogue shift interlock?
Car: 2009 Nissan Rogue SL Re: DIY: Stuck Shifter Wont Come Out Of Park FIX! If I understand your fix, you have basically bypassed the brake / shift interlock. This will allow removing the transission from the park position without the ignition on. Good to know in case this happens to my Rogue, but if so, everyone should be aware of this condition.
Why is my shift lever stuck in Park?
Are you saying the button doesn’t work but you have somehow accessed the cable linkage for it and are pulling it with some pliars or something to be able to move the shift lever? Sorry to ask obvious questions but are you pressing the brake pedal when you try to shift out of park?

What should I do if my shift lock is stuck in Park?
If you slowly pump the brakes in park can you hear the shift lock solenoid disengaging and re-engaging? If it’s working intermittently then you may need to replace the solenoid. You should have no problems shifting out of park using the shift lock button, so that’s pretty unusual.
