Can you put a JDM engine in a USDM car?
As far as the cam sprocket and gear, the older jdm EJs require the usdm parts to work on a usdm ecu but most of the 02-05 jdm with AVCS already have the same sprocket and gear. So it depends on which one you get, which you just have to compare when you get the motor.

Is the’06 JDM 350Z a rev up?
The replacement engine I got, from an ’06 JDM 350Z, is not also not a rev-up. The original motor in my ’06 G35 coupe IS a rev-up. The castings on the block, etc. are identical, and the Z motor happily plugged up to my G35 6-speed transmission. How many horsepower does a 350Z engine have?
The 2005-2006 350Z were “rev-up” engines and produced 300 horsepower. The Rev-up engine produced more horsepower by adding variable valve timing to the exhaust camshaft. Also added was a different ECU, slightly different internals, and a different intake plenum. All of this added up to the 300 horsepower it produced.

Why is the Chevy 350Z not talked about?
The reason people don’t talk about the VQ35 is the high cost for an N/A build. A Chevy LS swap is cheaper and has more potential for high horsepower. Basically, Chevy LS swaps have forced the VQ35 into the shadows. This dropping cost of a used 350Z, however, is changing this issue.
