How do you bleed the brakes on a 2002 Nissan Frontier?
- Connect a transparent vinyl tube to air bleeder valve.
- Fully depress brake pedal several times.
- With brake pedal depressed, open air bleeder valve to release. air.
- Close air bleeder valve.
- Release brake pedal slowly.
- Repeat steps 2. through 5. until clear brake fluid comes out of.
- Tighten air bleeder valve.
How to bleed ABS actuator in Nissan Frontier?
I’ve just replaced my rotors and pads, replaced the brake master cylinder, flushed the brake system with new fluid, and bled the master cylinder and all 4 brakes in the order outlined by the Nissan Service Manual listed below (page 11).
Do you have to have the dealer Bleed the brakes?
Usually, you have to have the dealer bleed the brakes if there is air in the ABS system. They have to hook it up to a computer in order for the correct valves to open in the ABS module so that the air can escape. Otherwise, you will never get it out. Thanks for the info guys, I had no idea I would have to get the stealership involved!
Where are the ABS brakes on a Nissan?
Usually located between the firewall and passenger strut. It will have the hardlines going into it. that is if you have one. you may not have one. after you bleed it bleed the wheels again if you can. Dont all abs cars have ABS units that you have to bleed???

After changing the front cals and in order to bleed I know that you do Passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, dirver front cals in that order… did I get that worng? Also, I heard that you have to bleed the ABS unit as well… where is the unit located?
