Why wont my car go into first gear?

Can a clutch master and slave cylinder be replaced?
I replaced both although it turned out only the slave had failed. I have since repeatedly bleed the slave cylinder, the clutch is now stiff and has resistance as usual. However when It is running with the clutch depressed it will still not go into gear (can be forced into reverse though).

When do you need to replace a brake master cylinder?
If the brake master cylinder is leaking braking fluid or if there are unsecured reservoirs on the cylinder which are holding the fluid, then you will almost be guaranteed of having a low brake fluid level. This will impair your ability to slow down the vehicle. You would need to replace the brake master cylinder in this situation.

What happens when you pull out of first gear in a car?
Besides, pulling out of first gear will feel harder than normal. The transmission will shift in and out of gear without any issue when the car is not running. It won’t come out of the reverse gear when the car is running. You can push the clutch to the limit but the engine almost halts upon allowing the clutch out.
