How do you reset the security system on a 2005 Nissan Xterra?
Turn the ignition switch to “OFF.” Remove the key from the ignition. Insert the key into a door or the trunk. Turn the key counterclockwise. The security system SHOULD reset as the door or trunk is unlocked with the key.

THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR ABOUT NOVEMBER 17, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261. My ABS is working great..I got the notice..don’t think I’m gonna let them touch it. next thing you know they will be pulling “A Ford” and reflashing my ECM so the motor makes less power.
What was the problem with my Nissan X?
Cranked engine about 3 times and finally it came back to life. the X sat all night, this morning took it for a drive 10 minutes later. engine shuts down and light are back. we are also dealing with the P0463 code problem. taking to our local shop to help out ( not the dealer). will keep you updated on whats up. thanks for all the post and help.
Where is the ECU on a Nissan X?
ECU can’t run engine w/o its input. First I’ve heard of it on an X though. P0340 is the right hand, passenger side, cam sensor located at the back of the cylinder head. I’d check the connector first, just disconnect and visually inspect. If it looks corroded or dirty, you may use WD-40 on both the sensor and harness connectors.
Is there a 2005 Nissan Xterra that will not start?
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Xterra. While parked, the contact attempted to start the vehicle but the engine would not start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostics.

When did the Nissan Xterra catalytic converter fail?
In may 2010, the Nissan dealer in santa monica checked the problem and indicated that the ipdm had to be replaced. This was an expensive repair. Shortly after the ipdm was replaced, 1 of 2 catalytic converters in the Xterra failed and had to be replaced. 6 months later (December 2010), the other catalytic converter failed.
