Is it harder to reverse with a stiff first gear?

Is it harder to reverse with a stiff first gear?

However they shouldn’t make a difference when the car is stationary. There again, you probably never select the other gears while the car is stationary. Additional by @Paulster2 – If the friction disk is spinning right after clutch release, it might make it harder to get it 1st/Reverse.

Can a gearbox oil change cure stiff gears?

When do you change gears in a car?

After the engine has warmed up I experience no issues with changing gears at all and only seems to happen when the engine is cold eg in mornings or after work. I had a new Dual mass flywheel and new clutch fitted only last month so surely it can’t be the clutch or flywheel?
