Why do I Bleed the brakes on my Nissan Patrol?

If the pedal is still poor the problem is more than likely the master cylinder. If the pedal is hard, remove each line clamp one at a time until the pedal goes soft. This will isolate where the problem lies. If you allowed the master cylinder reservoir to run completely dry then you will need to bleed it first.

How to fix a spongy brake pedal on a patrol?

Has anybody fixed one of these on a GQ? thanks in advance. Rather than bleeding in the conventional way..ie…pumping pedal up and releasing bleeder…try using a syringe and suck the good fluid thru. Start at the furthest away bleeder (l/h rear) and work your way to the closest.

Why are the brakes not sinking on my Nissan GTI?

I have a GTI with ABS, and the pedal does not sink – if the ABS is invoked, the pedal pulsates but does not sink. That’s how ABS operates – the ABS controller briefly (and repeatedly) removes pressure from the circuit to the brakes to stop them locking up. My guess is your master cylinder is shot, or the ABS unit/controller is shot.

What to do when you bleed the brake system?

Remove your fingers and get them to press the pedal down again and then cover the ports again. Repeat this procedure until you have a solid stream of brake fluid coming out of all the ports when the pedal is depressed. Then reconnect the lines and bleed the whole system as per normal.
