Where is the Speedo sensor on a Nissan Navara?
This is the speedo sensor that is located on the drivers side of the gearbox on 2wd models and on the transfer case on 4wd models. This is what the speedo on the dash cluster picks up off to work out the vehicle speed. If you speedo is not working it is possible that it could be a faulty sensor.

How to disconnect the Speedo pack on a Nissan?
if you just want to stop speedo from reading and keep the rest of the instruments working then I’d suggest unplugging the vehicle speed sensor thats on the side of the gearbox If you want to remove the speedo pack then the dash has to come off Ask Your Own UK Nissan Question Customerreply replied 8 years ago No sensor on side of gear box matey.

Why does my Nissan Navara idle all the time?
1. Im sitting in the car park engine not running but the speedometer fluctuates and im gaining kms. 2. The engine starts but wont idle, after about 3x attempts it idles and runs as it should. (note this issue has come up before about 3 3 months ago, we replaced a “fuel sensor” which fixed it between then and now. Again not sure if this related?).

Are there any issues with the Nissan speedometer?
Speedometer issues SOLVED! Some of you may remember my posts about having a failed speedometer and odometer with the other guages working fine. Well… after 1 week of testing wires, continuity, resistance, tracing, replacing 2 ECU computers, 2 speedometer heads, and 1 vehicle speed sensor.
Where is the speed sensor on a Nissan?
After a bit of time on the google, it looks like it goes – driveshaft > speed sensor speedo pinion gear > speed sensor > wiring harness > fuses > instrument cluster > ECU. Unplugged the sensor and tested the voltages while driving down the street with a multi meter clipped onto the two male pieces within the plug. No voltage being produced.
