What causes a Nissan Micra engine to overheat?
1. Electric Cooling Fan Failure An electric cooling fan which isn’t coming on can cause your engine to overheat. When your Nissan Micra isn’t going fast enough to ram it through from the front the electric cooling fan draws cooler air through your radiator. You can test this by letting your car idle long enough for the engine to heat up.
Why does my Nissan Micra make strange noises?
If there is fluid leaking from the callipers or an abnormal sound coming from the front of the car on braking, then the most likely cause is down to seized callipers, which will require replacing. Also, be on the look-out for strange sensations whilst out on the road. Another common issue with this small Nissan city run-around is with the steering.
What happens if I Leave my Nissan Micra without the battery?
I have learned the hard way that if you leave a Nissan Micra for a while without driving it, the battery can go completely dead. This isn’t usually a big problem, except for the fact that the electronic locking system won’t work either so you can’t get into the car to open the engine.
Why is my Nissan Micra not opening the door?
George on January 26, 2019: Hi, i made a new key with no buttons (not from nissan dealership). It just has the immobilizer for starting the engine. But when i open the doors from the drivers (or the passengers) door, the central locking is not working.

Since its a Micra…it probably has a non-metallic water pump – housing and impeller is probably plastic open oil filler cap and check for “white” stuff – this means water is in the oil, most likely cause will be head gasket (extreme case would be a crack somewhere in the engine block)
Why is my car overheating with no coolant?
Water pump impeller damaged (some impellers are made from plastic and can break a blade or two off when the plastic goes brittle due to the number of heat cycles, metal ones can corrode with just water used as coolant). These are just the common causes but if it’s not losing any coolant usually it’s not going to be a major problem to fix.
How can I tell if my car engine is overheating?
If there are no leaks then check thermostat is malfunctioning. It’s not cutting in when the engine warms up. Check that the cooling fan motor isn’t worn out. When the cooling fan is running, check that it’s generating a strong stream of air. Often the brushes in the cooling fans wear out after time.
