What makes a scraping noise when making a sharp right turn?
05 EX-L makes a scraping noise as the wheel rotates during a sharp right turn, like when pulling into a parking space. The scrape sound seems to match the speed of the rotating wheel. It sounds like the scraping comes from the driver’s side front wheel.
Why does my car Scrape when I Turn Left?
Nick could be right in this other answer: it could be a CV joint. Warped / high spot on the break rotor: this happened on my old Ford product, way back in the day. The brake rotor was ever so slightly off kilter that, when I would turn the wheel slightly left, the pad would touch the rotor lightly. Result: a very embarassing squeal / scrape.
How can I diagnose a scraping sound when turning left?
There’s definitely nothing hitting the ground while the car is stopped, and it’s difficult to look carefully under a moving car while it turns left fast. How can I diagnose what is causing the sound?
Why does the noise go away on a right turn?
The reason that the bearing noise goes away on right turns (or curves) is during that maneuver the weight of the vehicle shifts from the right to the left and that “unloading” of the right side wheel position takes some of the vehicle weight off of the right wheel bearing, usually just enough to make the noise go away.
Why does my car make a scraping sound when I Turn Left?
About three weeks ago I started noticing a scraping sound when I turn left. My mechanic did a courtesy check of alignment, balance and tire pressure about two weeks ago, but didn’t find anything that could’ve caused the sound.

Is it normal to hear a cracking noise in your neck?
There may have been times when you’ve heard random pops or cracks in your neck when suddenly turning your head, or you might have woken up on occasion with a stiff neck, and when you turn to one side you hear a cracking or grinding sound. This is normal, provided it’s not occurring all the time.
