When does a car squeak when backing up?

It’s audible from ~15km/h, below which the squeak is barely audible, up to ~70km/h, above which I can’t hear it any more, maybe because of wind. It makes a slightly different kind of squeak from the same spot when I’m backing up.

Morning squeak from overnight rain, dew, or condensation moisture. Rear drum brake squeaks when shoe-to-backing-plate contact points need lubrication. Thinning brake pads set off brake wear indicator squeak. Cheap brake pads with high metal content. To make this discussion clearer, I’ll tell you that there are two types of brakes.

Do you make a squealing noise when backing up?

Thanks for your reply. No, they do not squeal any other time – only when backing up out of the garage. (I don’t know if they would squeal backing up elsewhere because didn’t test this). They do not squeal when braking while going forward – even in the morning before the car/brakes warm up.

Why does my garage door make a squeaky noise when I open it?

If you hear a squeaky noise when the door is opening and closing, this is most likely a sign that the PVC part of the exterior frame weather‑stripping and the weather-stripping between garage door sections have probably dried out and are sticking together due to a lack of lubrication.
