Why was the Suzuki DR350 canceled in 1999?
In a move that’s still puzzling, Suzuki canceled the DR350 after 1999, and instead introduced the DR-Z400 series. The DR-Z has gone on to have its own illustrious career, but fans still wonder why Suzuki dropped some of the features of the 350, particularly the six-speed gearbox, when building the 400.
Is there a manual decompression lever on the DR350?
The high compression of the DR350 requires use of the manual decompression lever for the kick start model. Although some find it difficult to start the kick start models, they can start very easily when properly tuned and the decompression lever is used properly. If you have a stock vacuum operated petcock, set it initially to PRI.
What kind of horsepower does a Suzuki DR350 have?
At the time, its claimed 33 hp and 286 lb wet weight were perfectly matched to riders who wanted to flog their bikes off-road, but still retain some capability on the streets. On multi-lane highways, the DR350 wasn’t so fun, but on a back road, it did the job just fine, and you could push the bike fairly far into the woods if you wanted.
Why does my Suzuki DR350 not kick start?
Difficulties in starting are usually related to a dirty carburetor or improper idle fuel mixture. Stock vacuum petcocks are known to fail after many years and allow fuel to flow down the vacuum line. This leads to an excessively rich mixture causing the engine to run poorly, if at all.

Is the DR 350 a 6 speed bike?
The 350 is also a 6 speed. Great bike. If you are interested in one mine is for sale in the flea market. It would carry you around just fine. Not sure what the suspension will do with the added weight on it, but its great for me.
What kind of suspension does a DR350 have?
The suspension is the “weak link” but there are some upgrades you can do. If that’s a concern, look for a 1998 or 99 DR350SE. Those are the last two model years and the SE shared the forks and shock with the off-road version.
How many miles does a DR350 adventure rider get?
On road she’s taken me on a few 1000 mile plus trips without a problem. just changed the front sprocket (1 tooth bigger) to give longer gears on the road & tyres more suited to the job. As for the fuel not to sure what I get MPG wise but the guys I ride with have 600’s & it allways costs me half of what they put in thier bikes if you get me.
