Why does my Harley Davidson have hesitation and chugging?
It feels as if it’s not getting gas sprayed into the cylinders and it’s hesitating. It’s the FI model but I also left it uncovered out in the rain due to a biker rally here in NC for a week. See if you have any stored codes. If no codes are logged, I would empty the tank and refill with fresh fuel. Using dry gas or additives is a waste of time.
What kind of fuel does a Harley Davidson Sportster use?
A .050 jet is A LOT of fuel for most bikes. I would be interested in what kind of mileage you are getting. I have had the same off idle problem on my sportster. The last time i tinkered with it I tightened the “choke” enrichment cable and snapped the plastic flange, duh.

It is a gas pump shaped icon right in the middle of the speedometer, between the needle and the odometer reading.
