Are there any transmission issues with the DRZ 400?
DRZ 400 Transmission Issues. (Fairly Urgent) Hello All! As of yesterday I have been having trouble shifting gears on my DRZ.
When does transmission shift hard from 1st to 2nd Rd?
When car transmission Fluid is low or dirty is could lead to transmission shifting hard from 1st to 2 nd and even from 2nd to 3 rd. So when you have a gear shifting issues, one of the things to check is your transmission fluid.
Why is it so hard to shift gears?
The automatic shifter has numerous sensors that regulator when and how the transmission changes gears. When anyone of this sensors is bad it hard to shift gear. So if the sensors fail to receive and send the right signal readings, shifting problems can occur due to the wrong signal transmission.
Do you need to check the shift drum Springs?
Pull right cover, check the shifter spring, and the shift drum springs…. yes you will need a new right side cover gasket, oil and coolant. Good to know I don’t have to pull the tranny to check the spring.

What happens when you change gears on a DRZ?
In real life, at about 60 mph on the stock DRZ your engine would be reving pretty high and would be quite buzzy (lots of vibration). With the new ACT wide ratio gears you are shifting into 5th about 60 mph and are able to run 80 mph at significantly lower RPMs and engine vibration.

How to reset transmission adaptive shifting in Mercedes Benz?
If you race your Mercedes-Benz, it will remember that and keep the gearbox in gear longer. If you drive it gently, it will adapt to that as well and change gears earlier. Turn the key to position 2. You should see all the dash lights come on. Do NOT start the car.
