Follow the old harness back to the right side of the engine where it plugs in. Disconnect the old harness and plug in the new one. Then follow any wire left on the old harness to see where it plugs in. Usually under the blower housing on the ignition coil. Once you find where it connects, remove the old connector and plug in the new one.

Blip the throttle a couple of times and observe the results. If the engine responds quickly with a smooth blast and no backfiring through the carburetor, you have your idle mixture right. If a hesitation occurs then adjust the idle mixture screw out another 1/8 turn.
