Where is the key code on a Suzuki?
I lost my key to my bike which starts the ignition, opens the gas cap and unlocks the rear seat. I read that maybe the key code is stamped under the gas cap. I don’t want to/don’t know how to remove the ignition to find the code, although I’m sure it would be less costly than paying the $240 plus tax for the locksmith to make a new set of keys.
How do I remove the ignition lock on a Suzuki?
I called a local suzuki dealer. They said to do this basically, but when I called the lock smith he said he’d need the whole bike because that each lock ( ignition, gas cap, trunk) is slightly different and just having one of those things might not cut it. How do I remove the ignition lock?
Do you stamp key codes on underside of Suzuki gas caps?
:-/ Hopefully one of my neighbors has the T40 that I think I would need because I hate buying tools that I will probably only use once. Click to expand…
Do you drill the ignition on a 2001 Suzuki GSXR?
No… you don’t need to drill anything. I don’t know for sure about 2001, but most gsx-rs are two large torx bolts from the bottom. Google ‘how to remove ignition 2001 gsxr’ as I’m not going to do that for you. The seat and helmet locks are single-sided, the ignition is usually double.

Is the seat and helmet locks the same?
The seat and helmet locks are single-sided, the ignition is usually double. He only really needs the ignition lock although there’s a possibility that a key cut with just the ignition might not work perfectly with the other locks since the ignition tumblers are more worn down.
