31,000 miles on my 09 Ultra. When the bike is HOT some times the engin will not crank. It sounds like gears grinding. When it does try to start it will hesitate as if the battery is weak. When it is at ambient temp it will crank right up.

Hard starting when hot! New to Harley world, been riding metrics. Recently bought ’07 Ultra, rode to D.C. this weekend. Found that when bike is hot, doesn’t want to start. It doesn’t stall when hot, but if I shut it off it doesn’t want to restart.
