Which is Better Twin Cam 88 or stock?
IF you have Other Modifications on THAT bike Now, WE need to hear about them as it WILL make a difference in what to suggest for cams… If you are going gear drive then it would be the Andrews 21G. It has an intake closing of 30* and will give you more compression and torque than the stock cam.
Which is Andrews 26g or Andrews 48N Cam?
The Andrews 26G has an intake closing at 35* which is actually 1* later than stock and you won’t notice any difference until the upper rpms. If this is for your 05 Heritage then I suggest going with the Andrews 48N conversion cam. You have bee hive valve springs on the 05 which will accommodate up to .575″ of valve lift.

Is there another Andrews tw37 cam that is close to this one?
I was thinking an andrews tw37 cam but corect compresion is at 9.58 :1 with 0.040 head gaskets . Is there another cam that is close to this one but with maby giveup a bit of correct compresion . I merged theses threads together to try and keep this as concise as possible.

99-02 – The problem with the early twin cam 88 was not necessarily the fact that they had a spring loaded cam chain tensioner.
Why is the Andrews 37 Cam so noisy?
Bob Woods says the cam is reasonably quiet if you tighten the gears up to .001 backlash total. The Baisly spring will increase oil pressure to help with lifter leakdown. Some say to replace the stock lifters for ones that do not leakdown as much. Stock twin cams are noisy to begin with.
What kind of mpg does Andrews 37 Cam get?
One dyno was STD and one was SAE. I think the higher of the two was 100.9 HP and 104 Torque. Either way when I took it to Doc it was running hot or getting hot very quickly at lower rpm and was getting around 37 MPG. Compared to stock it ran pretty strong.
