Why does my front motor mount vibrate when I start it?
I loosened the center mount bolt and started the engine and it didn’t vibrate, but when I re-tightened it it had the vibration. I rode it about four miles and it was really rough and vibrating. I loosened the two bolts that hold the mount to the frame and it doesn’t vibrate. As soon as I tighten them it vibrates.

Removed the rider foot rests and lightly loosened the two bracket bolts that hold the swingarm isolators on each side. Lifted the tank and removed one bolt from the top heim mount and removed one bolt from the lower heim mount at the front of the engine.

Vibration GONE!!! There have been a lot of threads over the years about big twins developing a serious vibration after changing the front motor mount. Many thought it was the new style mount and various other reasons. I had the same problem and here’s the story.
