What do you put in a crank case to drain it?
Be careful when you put the plug back in it cross threads easy. Colony makes an Acorn nut to replace the stock nut. You will have oil on the RS of the bike unless you screw a hose in the hole the plug came out of after removing the screen #15, put the screen back in with closed end up with NEW O ring
Where is the oil drain on a Harley Davidson?
Place an oil drain pan below the primary chaincase on the left side of the engine. Unscrew the primary drain bolt from the bottom of the primary chaincase, located directly below the round clutch inspection cover, using a 3/8-inch Allen wrench.
What kind of oil do you put in a motorcycle drain plug?
Reinstall the primary drain plug. Make sure it is snugged well, but do not over-tighten. Use a long-tipped and narrow funnel to get the oil down into primary through the derby cover or inspection cover. You should only need 32-38oz to sufficiently fill the primary, and any motorcycle specific oil will do.
Why is oil draining out of my crank case?
In the past it has always cleared itself by dumping out (all over the engine) through the crankcase vent, but this time there is enough oil in the crank case that the starter cannot turn the motor to fire up. Any suggestions short of pulling the motor, removing the jugs and turning it upside down? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

How do you change primary fluid on a Harley Davidson Softail?
Start it by hand and then snug it up with a socket wrench and 5/8-inch socket. Set the torque wrench to 14-21 foot-pounds of torque and tighten the plug. It helps to use a funnel designed for a primary case. Harley Davidson Softails require one quart of primary fluid.
