Can’t speak for Honda. With my current ford they call it auto start stop. Dozens of things keep it from shutting off and or restarting. Brake pressure is a skill needs to be learned like driving a clutch. If cabin is hot or cold climate control will keep engine running, outside temp to hot or cold keeps engine running.
Why do I have to disable idle stop on my Honda CRV?
I rented a Ford with the idle stop in Nebraska summer. Had to disable it because every stop light it would shut off the a/c and run the fan. The heat and humidity was unbearable. Glad my 2017 doesn’t have it Message to Honda: this is a ridiculous, unnecessary & annoying “feature”.
