Why does my Evo have so much vibration?

The concern I have is that vibration may be indicative of too much runout on your drive shaft/pinion gear. I am afraid the only way to check that is to gut the cam chest and then measure the runout on the shaft. Before doing that, you did have the new tire dynamically balanced, right?

Can a Harley Davidson engine reduce the vibration?

They eliminate the vibrations to almost nothing. This required a redesign of the entire engine case to facilitate this design so it was a problem for Harley or they wouldn’t have spent the money to redesign it to the newer style. I saw this product to reduce vibration a while ago but I do not have any personel experience with it.

What are the strengths and weaknesses of the Evo?

Acutally, there were a few, John. Post 1991 engines had the always-failing INA inner cam bearing. Pre-1996 engines had the thin axle tappets that failed and ruined engines. Hence the “B” lifters that came out, to fix the issue. Then there’s the pre 1996 base gasket leakers……
