Why did my Polaris EFI boggy not finish the Indy 500?
Motor loads up trying to pull through the high load. That’s just one example of clutch issues. Worn belts , wrong offset, incorrect center distance, broken motor mounts as well as binding or worn driven clutch parts will cause performance issues. Lets not forget any binding in the track either. A motor problem will not let the sled get up to 70.

The fuel pump cycling is a tricky thing. If you disconnect and reconnect the battery (totally reset the ECU), with the key on, the pump should cycle for several seconds. If the key is off for 10 minutes of more, the keep-alive relay will have turned off, and turning the key on should cycle the pump.
Are there different codes for the Indy 500?
There is a possibility for 2 different codes, either you’re seeing 1 long and 1 short, or you’re seeing 2 long flashes and nissing the short flashed.
What was the top speed of the 1993 Indy 500?
Top speed on that vintage 500 is upper 80’s anyway. Clutch problems will not allow the motor to get up to it’s power band quickly so it bogs down and lugs until the sled has enough ground speed to allow the motor to get close to it’s power band. Most 2 stroke sled motors aren’t making any HP until they are over 4500 – 5000 rpm.

Why is the last Blink on the Indy 500 hard to see?
Ok, for some reason the last blink can be hard to see (especially in sunlight) you’re probably seeing 1 long 3 short for airbox temp sensor. That would definitely make the sled run like crap. In this vid giving the same 1-3 error code (it’s an RXL not a 500) you can see that the 3rd short blink can be hard to see.
